Web17 de jan. de 2024 · The High-E is the toughest string slot to cut in a nut. Not much tollerance going for it to sound like a sitar. Eventually, dependable of the gauge, its common for it have a minor sitar sound effect. It is normal. But yours, i guess one could make it less. but i would not worry.

I realize this is an old … WebI just got a Jazzmaster and it's pretty much perfect setup wise except the open e string buzzes like a sitar and only sustains for like 3-4 seconds before going silent. After some googling I checked whether the nut was cut to low. I don't think it is, because it seems to not touch the frets when the string vibrates.
